About the Midwife

Martha Boudakian

Certified Nurse Midwife

I have been a midwife since 1998. I am a graduate of Barnard College (B.A., Political Science), Binghamton University (B.S., Nursing), and the University of Pennsylvania, where I received my midwifery education (M.S.N.). I am board certified as a nurse midwife by the American Midwifery Certification Board, licensed by the State of New York, and maintain my certification through continuing education.

I have joyfully served families in the Rochester area since 2012. Before that, I provided hospital-based midwifery care and well-woman gynecology in rural and urban communities in the United States. I also worked as a midwife and women’s healthcare consultant and educator in Armenia, where I lived with my family for several years and return frequently.

I live in the Rochester area with my family. My partner Vincent and I have two lively daughters, both born gently into the hands of midwives. I am a dedicated practitioner of yoga, and I enjoy weaving, cooking, international travel, and time in the natural world.
